What thepanelist is
thepanelist generates synthetic consumer personas and simulated panel responses using AI. It is a directional research tool, not a survey platform, not a substitute for real user research, and not a guarantee of how real customers will actually behave.
No warranty on panel accuracy
Persona responses are AI-generated and may not reflect real customer opinions, behavior, or preferences. Do not use panel output as the sole basis for a business, legal, financial, medical, or safety decision. You are responsible for validating any directional insight with real users before acting on it materially.
Acceptable use
Don't use thepanelist to generate personas or content intended to impersonate real, identifiable people; to harass, defame, or discriminate against real people or groups; or to generate content for illegal purposes. We can suspend accounts that violate this.
Your content
You retain ownership of the briefs, documents, and material you submit. You grant us the right to process it (including sending it to the model and embedding providers described in the Privacy Policy) solely to provide the product's functionality.
Service availability
Provided as-is, during early access, without uptime guarantees. We'll try to give notice before anything that would delete existing data.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, thepanelist is not liable for business decisions made based on synthetic panel output. [TODO: real liability cap language and governing-law clause, once there's counsel and an incorporated entity]
Changes
We can update these terms; continued use after a posted change means you've accepted the update.
